vlogger scene: Famous vlogger/ social media influencer presents an idea that you can put music on shuffle and when your date/wife/client shows up, the song playing will tell you the fate of that relationship. “The universe is always telling us the path we should be taking. We just need to listen. There is no coincidence. (cut to shots of people watching the videocast and back/forth between vlogger/each audience member). You can put your music on shuffle, let it play, and listen to the result… what is it telling you?”.. vlogger gives an example.. His followers take the advice too seriously.
1st Inside suburban home. Man waiting for the return of his wife who has gone on vacation w/her male friend, he is jealous, he is looking out the window when she returns. She gets out of a cab. Shot returns to him sitting at the computer with pictures of her and her friends facebook, maybe nightclub party photo, and he presses shuffle on the music as she walks through the door: (Lying Eyes Eagles). They fight, she cries, she runs out the door.
2nd Son puts on shuffle mix in his room (arcade fire we exist plays) he confidently walks to the lving room and comes out to his parents. They refuse him, shun him… he walks back to his room and... kills himself? Maybe just breaks down and packs his stuff and leaves.
3rd Couple, woman waiting for her man to come home, ‘some kind of wonderful’ playing, but then the stereo gets unplugged as she trips over the cord going to the door to let him in… they start to argue about him being late, but he knows why she is upset, so he plugs the stereo back in… some kind of wonderful again. They make an understanding eye contact, they start dancing.
4th Boy trying to decide if he should do a big jump trick on BMX bike, he shuffles his music, song comes on he doesn’t like, he shuffles it again… his favorite song! He pulls off the trick!
5th…
End scene; snowfall outside, NY city, winter very cold... show influencer waiting to meet a new tinder date and listening to a (hardcore?negative/omonious song for a date)... she shows up outside the cafe, hears the song, ignores it at first, they chat a bit, obviously instant chemistry and wity banter… he invites her into the cafe she asks him if the song he was listening to when she arrived was a good sign? He laughs and says “I make my own fate”. She smiles warmly, grabs his phone, hits shuffle and on comes ‘santa baby’
Get film schools all around the world to make this same idea/video in different languages.
Ask around for some influencers that want to be involved… It needs an explanation of what this story is trying to say about social media influence and society, etc.
The publicity aspect; First only release the original vlogger scene. Second spread rumor of lawsuit or of negative comments about the consequences of musical prescience. Third reveal it is all an artistic expression of possible consequences.
ANOTHER IDEA:
Simple. Just follow any subject, human or otherwise for a significant amount of time, say 5 years, and you will get a story. I middle, some dramatic situation, climax, end. The pillars of the story, the substance isn’t necessarily the subject, but the environment the subject wanders through… and of course the other subjects w/in that environment and in the distance of the story their own stories.
